I have been travelling for a few weeks now, and it has been a while since I last showed up here. I did not want to let much more time pass without saying hello.
A few highlights so far.
In Dallas, I got to visit some of the US craft supply stores like Michaels and picked up a few treasures I cannot easily find at home. Then in New York, I finally stepped into Blick Art Materials — and I will be honest, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Aisle after aisle of things I normally only see online. I now understand what great supplies all my US friends have and at great prices.
The real highlight though was in Pennsylvania. Our son drove us out from New York to meet a friend I had only known through Instagram until then. We sat together with our journals open, added pages into each other's books — marks, colour, a little piece of each of our hearts left on someone else's paper. We even filmed a little something together for her Patreon.
I'm sure some of you already know Casey from @expressyourartsysoul. If you are in her Patreon, the video of our afternoon is in there.
There is something so special about creating alongside another woman who understands why this practice matters without needing it explained. Just two open journals, a lot of laughter, and a shared faith woven through everything we made.
I have been creating slowly on the road — mostly collaging to keep up the practice in between everything else. You can find a few of those pages over on YouTube if you would love to see them.
And if you have not already downloaded my free devotional, God Sees You — it is a beautiful reminder of how much God delights over you.
More soon once I am home and back into rhythm. Until then, grateful for good supplies, good company, and friendships built online and made real in person.
I would love to know your experiences of meeting online friends in real life, or of creating alongside someone who just gets it.
Love,
Your creative friend Tina.
May you find your own quiet yes with Him today.
