Tina's story
I never imagined I would be someone who art journals.
I was looking for a new creative practice but I didn't know what, as I had never considered myself arty. I was just a woman who was excited to create with the Lord with some colour. I set out to learn and discovered so many mixed media art journaling techniques along the way. Transforming Pages is the place where I keep the practice and the rhythms going while sharing the journey with others.
I am creative in many areas of life but paint brushes and paints were quite foreign to me. I am still experimenting and discovering so many wonderful tools. It didn't matter what tools I had though. I just started to create. Slowing down enough to make marks and collage brought my soul to life. I began to crave this time with Pappa each day.
I had been on and off with reading the Bible for years and I wanted a consistent way to document and learn. I could quote verses. I had attended church, done the studies, led the small groups. Somewhere in the middle of all of it, the Word had stayed in my head and never quite made it to my heart.
That is what Transforming Pages is. It is not an art class. It is not a Bible study programme. It is a doorway, a simple and accessible creative practice that helps women take what they know about God and live it instead of just knowing it.
